Worries into Prayers
Read Philippians 4:4-9
Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again, rejoice! Let everyone see that you are unselfish and considerate in all that you do. Remember that the Lord is coming soon. Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don't forget to thank him for his answers. Philippians 4: 4-6 (TLB)
Ubong E. A. Zeal is from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Worry is a natural, human response to challenging situations. Years ago Ubong contracted life-threatening malaria and typhoid fever, and he worried he would die.
Then one day Ubong felt God saying, "Be still and know that I am God." From that time on, he converted his worries and anxieties into prayers, and his faith in God grew. Ubong studied more of God's word as he made his requests known to God. The apostle Paul told the Philippians not to be anxious about anything; rather, in whatever situation they found themselves, they should take all their petitions to God with thanksgiving.
God answers prayers. Dwelling on worries and doubts does no good; but when we bring our petitions to God with thanksgiving, praying with faith in our hearts, our prayers will be answered.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, give us faith to release our worries and pray more. Help us always to be thankful for what you've done and what you will do, in Jesus' name. Amen.
