Welcomed Back

Read 2 Corinthians 5:16-21

So stop evaluating Christians by what the world thinks about them or by what they seem to be like on the outside. Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, merely as a human being like myself. How differently I feel now! When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same any more. A new life has begun!

2 Corinthians 5:16-17 (TLB)

We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has returned to life. He was lost and is found. So the party began. Luke 15:24 (TLB)

Eui-mo Yang lives in Seoul, South Korea. Graduating from university, studying abroad, earning a PhD, striving to be a good Christian - everything was going smoothly. However, at times Eui-mo had experienced ups and downs. She worked days and nights without a break, repeatedly meeting with failures, and she became depressed. Eventually she moved to a small town where she began to work for a kimchi manufacturing company. She felt like she was starting from nothing. Because Eui-mo is clumsy and was inexperienced in manual labor, she often received criticism from her co-workers. All she could do was pray. She was weary from her repeated failures. But the Lord welcomed her with open arms even though she had lived like the prodigal son for decades. (See Luke 15:11-32.)

From that time, her life was changed. Her thinking became peaceful and positive, she praised more and felt more gratitude, and when faced with a false accusation she was able to smile and carry on. These changes resulted from the love and acceptance of the Lord.

No matter what we do, the Lord embraces us. Jesus came to save sinners, and he looks for every lost sheep until he finds it. Those who wander away from the Lord can always come back. The Lord welcomes everyone with open arms.

prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for waiting for us and forgiving our sins. May all people recognize your love and turn to you, in Jesus' name. Amen.
