O Lord, from the depths of despair I cry for your help: "Hear me! Answer! Help me!"
Lord, if you keep in mind our sins then who can ever get an answer to his prayers? But you forgive! What an awesome thing this is! That is why I wait expectantly, trusting God to help, for he has promised. Psalm 130: 1-5 (TLB)
Mary Ng Shwu Ling lives in Singapore. Recently she began a new hobby: Candle making. In her first class, she made a candle by layering different shades of blue. she had to wait for the first layer to set before pouring another. he waiting process taught her patience.
Being patient is a vital part of life. Throughout our life of faith, we may wait to see the answer to our prayers. Patience with God and our circumstances is one sign of a mature faith, a quality that we develop over time.
In the Bible, God answered many prayers only after much time had passed. Jacob waited seven years for a wife and worked seven more after being cheated by his father-in-law. (See Gen. 29: 15-30) The Israelites waited four decades for deliverance. (See Ex. 16:35.)
We wait for what is worth waiting for; in the process, we learn patience. May God grant us patience to wait for God's divine blessings.
Prayer: Father God, grant us patience to keep anticipating, hoping, and trusting in you as we wait, in Jesus' name, amen.
Waiting for Rayah to be born!
