Read Psalm 119: 105-112

Your words are a flashlight to light the paths ahead of me, and keep me from stumbling. I've said it once and I'll say it again and again: I will obey these wonderful laws of yours. Psalm 119: 105-106 (TLB)

I will never lay aside your laws, for you have used them to restore my joy and my health. Psalm 119:93 (TLB)

Kazuo Ishikawa is from Akita, Japan. He will never forget his first experience using a car navigation system more than 15 years ago. His daughter's wedding was to be held in a big city about two hundred miles away. Kazuo had never been to that city, and he decided to install a vehicle navigation system for the drive. As Kazuo and his wife traveled, the landscape changed, and gradually became unfamiliar. Kazuo checked the monitor often and followed the system's directions. Then at last, the destination appeared on the screen, and to his surprise they had arrived.

This amazing experience reminded Kazuo of our Christian life. Our final destination has been set to God's kingdom, and we are now in the midst of driving on the road of life, looking to the Bible for guidance as we go. It is inevitable that we will face difficulties, hardships, and temptations. However, if we carefully follow God's guidance in scripture, our final destination will be guaranteed.

Prayer: Help us, O God, to study scripture carefully so that we can remain on the road that leads to you, in Jesus' name. Amen.
