Read Revelation 14:6-13
And I heard a voice in the heavens above me saying, "Write this down: At last the time has come for his martyrs to enter into their full reward. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blest indeed, for now they shall rest from all their toils and trials; for their good deeds follow them to heaven!" Revelation 14:13 (TLB)
Rick Stockwell lives in Connecticut. The athletic field was covered with frost as Rick jogged across it one chilly morning. Glancing back, Rick saw patterns from his running shoes on the grass. He was reminded of how our lives and the choices we make also leave marks. For better or worse, our actions make impressions on those around us, and our choices have an immediate effect as well as eternal consequences.
When Rick first became a Christian, his mentor taught him to always have his spiritual antennae up, even when doing something routine like shopping at the grocery store. We never know where the Holy Spirit might lead. A kind word spoken in the checkout line might be enough to help raise someone's spirits. Returning a lost cellphone or wallet to a customer service desk might restore someone's faith in humanity. Helping someone reach an item on an upper shelf might put a smile on his face,
Little things matter to God. As Jesus said, "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much" (Luke 16:10). With each faithful choice, we can ensure the impressions we make bring glory to God and benefit others.
Prayer: Dear God, help us to have our spiritual antennae up at all times. Show us the people in our paths who especially need our love, in Jesus' name. Amen
