Grace and Comfort
" So my counsel is: Don't worry about things - food, drink, and clothes. For you already have life and a body - and they are far more important than what to eat and wear. Look at the birds! They don't worry about what to eat - they don't need to sow or reap or store up food - for your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. Will all your worries add a single moment to your life?"
"So don't worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.
"So, don't be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time."
Matthew 6: 25-27, 31-34 (TLB)
Brayan Orellana is from Texas. He remembers the day in 2008 when his dad lost his company to bankruptcy. All Brayan could hear was the frustration in his dad's voice, but eight-year-old Brayan didn't really understand what was happening. He always wanted to be just like his dad, but he found himself lost and confused.
as days passed, his dad searched for a new job. Each day Brayan would ask with hope in his voice, "Did you get a job?" But every time, the answer was no. As his search continued, Brayan started to lose hope; he wondered why God was putting his family through these hardships. Through the weeks his dad started to notice the change in Brayan's voice when he would come back from an interview. When he notice his hope fading, he told him, "Brayan, I know what we are going through is different and hard, but you need to know that God will always provide for us - somehow, some way."
Brayan learned that even when we struggle, God gives love, relief, and opportunities through out life. Brayan has had much and he has had little, but the amount of grace and comfort that God has provided for him has never changed,
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for all that you provide for us. Help us to recognize your blessings in tough times, in Jesus' name, amen.
