A Good Work

Read Philippians 1:4-11

But we Christians have no veil over our faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him. 2 Corinthians 3:18(TLB)

Debbie M. Rice lives in Kentucky. As an artist, Debbie enjoys the process of creating art as much as the satisfaction of seeing a project finished. She finds delight in choosing a color palette and making each painting unique. Her paintings constantly change when she works on them. She often feels that they are an ever-evolving portrayal of life.

Debbie likes to live with her paintings for a while and continually sees ways to improve and enhance them. She might add a bit of sunlight or a splash of color in the form of a tiny flower. Often, when she applies the last brush stroke and adds her initials to the bottom, she is surprised at how the final outcome has evolved from her initial vision.

When we open our lives to God, we invite the Almighty to change and mold us in ways that improve our lives. As our Creator, God moves within us so that we become more like Christ. When the Lord's work in us is complete, we will be astonished by how we have been changed.

Prayer: Creator God, help us to open our hearts to you and create space for your Spirit to move within us, molding us into your image, in Jesus' name. Amen.
